Build the Material Schedule From the Construction Sequence

Long-lead or custom items should be reviewed early so they do not become the critical path.
Confirm Measurements Before Ordering

Stock availability can support faster projects, while custom products can provide more design flexibility. Confirm current inventory and custom-order lead time before releasing an order.
Do not schedule installers until the delivery expectation is realistic for the exact product.
Plan Freight and Receiving
Large doors, long wall panels, slabs, and project quantities may require freight delivery. Confirm truck access, receiving hours, appointment requirements, unloading equipment, and where materials will be stored.
Inspect shipments according to the applicable delivery and claims process before moving products deep into the job site.
Coordinate Accessories at the Same Time
A project can be delayed by a missing trim, clip, fastener, connector, drain, valve, or mounting component even when the main product has arrived. Build a complete accessory list before purchasing.
Use Total Installed Cost
Compare products using total delivered and installed cost, not only the unit price. Freight, labor, accessories, site preparation, waste, maintenance, and schedule impact can change the true project cost.
