A single-hole faucet mounts through one opening. Many have a single lever for temperature and flow, but confirm the controls on the model you select. Check its base dimensions, mounting-hole diameter, supported deck thickness and space below the sink for hardware and connections.
Replacing a three-hole faucet is not always a direct swap. A compatible deck plate may cover unused openings, but its size and supported hole spacing must match the sink. A plate is not necessarily included, and it cannot make every layout compatible. Confirm the arrangement before ordering or modifying the countertop.

What matte black tells you—and what it does not
Matte black describes a dark finish with a subdued appearance. It does not identify the faucet body material, coating process or warranty. Ask for the specification rather than assuming a black faucet uses PVD or powder coating.
A dark finish can make light-colored mineral residue, dust and toothpaste marks visible. Fingerprint and water-spot resistance vary by product. The underlying body material alone does not guarantee that the surface will resist scratches or remain unchanged.

Ask an installer to assess corroded shutoffs, unusual connections or changes to the mounting arrangement. Follow the product's instructions for seals, connections, flushing and leak checks. A one-hole design does not guarantee fewer connections or a straightforward installation in every bathroom.
Use a care routine for the exact finish
Start with the manufacturer's written instructions. Routine wiping with a soft damp cloth followed by drying helps manage surface residue. Use mild soap only as permitted and rinse it away. Avoid abrasive pads and powders.
Do not use a steam cleaner unless the faucet manufacturer explicitly approves it for that product. The absence of cleaning chemicals does not establish that heat or steam is suitable for the finish, seals or other components.
